Armitage Senior

Armitage Senior Secondary School was established in January 1927 and named after Governor Sir Cecil Hamilton Armitage. Over decades it has served students from across the Central River region and beyond, building a reputation as one of the country’s oldest and respected secondary schools.

As a government boarding school located in Janjanbureh (Georgetown), Armitage provides a focused residential environment designed to support academic study, character development, and practical life skills. The school has benefited from active ex-students and community partnerships that contribute resources and mentoring.
